The Carbon Sea Garden

A sustainable seaweed farm to help fight climate change and reduce the need for single-use plastics

Our Mission

At Carbon Sea Garden, we are committed to cultivating and refining sugar kelp at scale to combat climate change and reduce our dependence on single-use plastics. Our farm, located off the coast of Falmouth, produces the highest quality seaweed with minimal environmental impact. Join us in our mission to create a sustainable future for our planet.

We farm using suspended headlines. Surface floats keep the lines in place and clearly mark the farm to other boats.

The headlines are anchored to the seabed at depths of between 11 to 20 meters using either screw anchors or eco-blocks (habitat enhancing cubes) depending on the physical condition of the farm.

These depths allow the seaweed to grow to its full potential without making contact with the seabed. Below the farms, there is an abundance of marine life.
